University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations invites you to take part in a consultation meeting for school owners, directors of studies and teachers. This meeting forms part of our regular programme to re-evaluate our exams and their relevance to candidates, employers, and other exam users, as well as their appeal to teachers and schools. The review process involves face to face consultation meetings, trialling of new and amended task types and detailed research into the likely affect of any changes on candidates or their performance. Cambridge ESOL is in now the process of consulting teachers and other stakeholders throughout the world about changes which are being considered for FCE and CAE. The aim of the proposed FCE and CAE consultation meetings is to discuss possible changes to these two exams and take the opportunity to gather key stakeholder views and opinions that will help us to shape the final review. The event will include a presentation by senior staff from Cambridge ESOL and a series of interactive sessions to discuss your ideas. The session will open with a presentation on the background to the FCE and CAE review, followed by an overview of the activity undertaken so far. A number of possible changes for consideration will then be presented, and there will be an opportunity for everyone to discuss these areas and exchange opinions and views. As Cambridge ESOL is keen to gather as much feedback from the event as possible, all participants will be handed a questionnaire to complete, which will be collected in at the end of the session.
