The three themes of the conference integrate the complexity of early childhood and focus on children, professionals and inspiring environments.
The arts
The arts transform and enhance our lives and are integral to our culture, creativity, imagination, expression, wellbeing and relationships. This theme honours every childÂ’s right to cultural and personal expression. We will consider the significant contribution of the arts to learning, wellbeing and relationships.
Professional leadership
The theme will explore the complexities of professional leading, ways of promoting and sustaining professional leadership and the articulation and application of ethical principles in our work as leaders. Through this theme we will explore past and present models of early childhood leadership to ensure that future models are visionary, innovative, diverse, distributed and collaborative.
Inspiring environments
Children learn in all their environments: natural, built, social, cultural and relational. Children have a right to access environments that are cared for, and that are specifically and thoughtfully planned to support optimal learning and development. This theme will include the shared responsibility in creating sustainable environments for all. We will explore environments that are rich and complex and inspire children and adults to live, work and share their joy at being, belonging and becoming.
