We are particularly interested in machine learning, medical robotics and navigation, image guidedance, and treatment planning. In a research project with clinical partners we are developing an AI based system for multi-modal localization and classification of laryngeal lesions using advanced endoscopic imaging and deep learning. YOUR TASKS - Developing and evaluating deep learning methods for image processing, particularly for the detection of lesions - Implementing an AI-based software to fuse different data and to guide physicians - Collaborating with clinical partners, supporting data acquisition and evaluation in the clinics - Systematic experimental evaluations, e.g., on real patient data - Presentation of your results at top-tier international conferences and publication in high-ranking journals YOUR PROFILE Requirements - Completed scientific university studies, in particular in the subject area computer science or related fields Desired knowledge and personal skills - Very good programming skills, particularly in Python and C++ - Excellent knowledge of recent machine learning methods and frameworks - Very good understanding of medical imaging, image processing, and human computer interaction - Excellent English language and scientific writing skills are required (at least C1), German is a plus OUR OFFER - In addition to the project duties we offer the supervision and support to obatin a PhD - You will be part of an interdisciplinary team and collaborate with academic and clinical partners - You will work on state of the art AI methods with a meaningful purpose - We provide room to grow and to implement your ideas At the heart of TU Hamburg’s research, teaching and transfer of technology is the guiding principle of developing technology for people.
