The EU has consistently recognised the vital role that sport plays in sustaining and advancing its economic and social model. The past #BeActive Awards and #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards celebrated outstanding initiatives and commitments to promote inclusive participation in sport and physical activity, and encouraged people to stay active. The #BeActive EU Sport Awards build on these efforts. They aim to highlight and reward the contributions of sport organisations and individuals to a Union based on equity and shared values. The objective of this competition is to present best practice initiatives and to introduce inspiring individuals in the field of sport in Europe. Categories are: Physical activity, Inclusion, Volunteering, Across generations, Peace.
