The symposium focuses on the interplay of fathers' everyday care-practices, gender-specific welfare state structures, and specific policies targeted at fathers. Sessions will emphasize the influence of policies, diverse family forms, and critical life events on the engagement of fathers in different national contexts.
The conference will bring together a highly selective group of presenters from various European countries (Austria, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Lithuania, Norway, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, UK),
China and the US to share their cutting-edge research on the care practices of fathers from an international perspective.
The goals of the conference also include initiating an international research network to further the exchange of ideas and recent research and to encourage cross-national collaborations.
