Bildungsberatung weltweit

Wenn man international zum Thema "Bildungsberatung" recherchiert, was zumeist auf Englisch geschieht, so muss man zunächst feststellen, dass man mit verschiedenen Begriffen zu tun hat, die nicht immer klar voneinander unterschieden werden können: guidance, counsel(l)ing, consulting, coaching, advising - um nur einige zu nennen. Sucht man nach Definitionen, bemerkt man schnell, dass diese sehr unterschiedlich ausfallen können. Am ehesten kann man noch eine gewisse Übereinkunft darüber erkennen, dass "counsel(l)ing" häufig eher psycho­thera­peutische oder psycho­soziale Beratung meint - aber auch das ist nicht immer so stringent der Fall. Außerdem scheint "guidance & counsel(l)ing" oft ein integrierter Service von (Bildungs-)Institutionen zu sein, während "consultants" extern und häufig auch kostenpflichtig aufgesucht werden. Wiederholt findet man die Begriffskombination "career guidance (& counsel(l)ing" oder auch "career development", was nicht nur einer Bildungsberatung, sondern auch einer Berufs- oder Laufbahnberatung entsprechen kann.
