Almost all schools in Denmark are digitised. The German school in Sonderborg also teaches on tablets and screens. However, the school is particularly keen to protect the data of its pupils. UNESCO adopts first global convention on higher education and recommendation on Open Educational Resource

On 25 November 2019, UNESCO's General Conference adopted the Global Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education and a Recommendation on Open Educational Resources, two international normative instruments for education. They are the first international agreement of the United Nations in the field of higher education.

First 17 “European Universities” selected: Building towards a European Education Area

The European Commission has announced the higher education institutions from all over Europe that will be part of the first 'European Universities' alliances. European Universities are transnational alliances of higher education institutions from across the EU that share a long-term strategy and promote European values and identity. The initiative is designed to significantly strengthen mobility of students and staff, and foster the quality, inclusiveness and competitiveness of European higher education.  Out of 54 applications received, 17 European Universities involving 114 higher education institutions from 24 Member States were selected, based on an evaluation carried out by 26 independent external experts, including rectors, professors and researchers. Tibor Navracsics, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, said: "I am pleased to see the ambition of the first 17 European Universities, which will act as role models for others across the EU.”

2019 U-Multirank ranking: European universities performing well

U-Multirank published its sixth annual and largest-ever edition of world ranking of universities – scoring more than 1,700 universities from 96 countries. Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission, U-Multirank compares higher education institutions’ performance in areas that matter most to students and are not covered by traditional university rankings such as knowledge transfer, research impact and open access. Among the top universities are European higher education institutions that performed especially well in the category of international openness due to their extensive network of international relations and liberal policies. An interactive map showing the universities with top overall performance is a new feature U-Multirank has added in this year’s edition.
