Charles University in Prague is the largest and oldest university in the Czech Republic. Its Faculty of Education comprises a total of 20 departments, an Institute for Research and Development in Education, and other units, including an Centre for Support and Development of Pedagogical Practices and an Education Policy Centre. The faculty also operates the Centre for Research of Elementary Education and publishes more than ten academic journals.
