Netherlands Initiative for Education Research (NRO) - NWO division / Nationaal Regieorgaan Onderwijsonderzoek (NRO) - NWO-onderdeel - english information
Netherlands
The "Netherlands Initiative for Education Research (NRO)" aims at strengthening the cooperation between research, practice and educational policy. NRO's main activities are the coordination and funding of programmes and projects (among others, e.g. the big international assessments like PISA, TIMSS or PIRLS). The English website provides a list of projects whose detailed information unfortunately is only available in Dutch. You can find projects with an Ebglish description on the website of the umbrella organisation NWO, although a majority of these projects doesn't come from the NRO but from the Social Sciences division (see filter "NWO division on the left side). Furthermore, the NRO website provides information on international cooperations, on the issue of transfer from research to practice through different knowledge portals, as well as on funding opportunities.
The NRO is a division of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).[Abstract: Editors of Education Worldwide]
