At its 14th session the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities decided to make a call for submission regarding its draft of General Comment no. 4 on the right to inclusive education, article 24 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The Committee has developed this General Comment to guide States parties in fulfilling their obligations under Article 24 of the Convention. It provides an interpretative definition of right to inclusive education and other key concepts, together with an elaboration of the core obligations of States Parties and the measures required to implement inclusive education systems that guarantee the right to education for all persons with disabilities. In this regard, the Committee invited interested parties to provide written input on the draft by 15 January 2016. The website offers the text of the Comment as well as the submissions of numerous organisations and countries (including Germany).
