LIPI was founded in 1967 and is a non ministrial research institution directly responsible to the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Among others, the institute serves as national focal point of scientific international organization (e.g. ASEAN or UNESCO), as well as for Indonesian researchers. LIPI also serves as Center for National Scientific Documentation and Information. Its focus is rather on natural sciences. Educational sciences or research could not be found in the LIPI category for Social Sciences and there is no category for Humanities.
