The Africa Disability Alliance (ADA), formerly Secretariat of the African Decade of Persons with Disabilities (SADPD) until April 2014, is a pan-african agency that works to promote disability programming and policy implementation processes by working in partnership with the African Union (AU), governments, Civil Society and Continental / Regional and National Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs), and Academia in Africa. Amongst others, it gives expert advice on the current exercise of development of the African Disability Protocol at the request of the African Commission for Human and People’s Rights and the development of the Continental Plan of Action (CPOA) for the extended Decade of Persons with Disabilities-2010-2019.
The website itself provides information on programmes run by ADA in different African countries, as well as fulltexts of annual reports, official documents (strategic plans, statements, ..), and of the newsletter.
