Colombia

The Administrative Department for Science, Technology and Innovation "Colciencias" fosters public policies to make ICT a public topic in Colombia. The activities for the fullfilment of this task include the agreement of policies which promote the production of knowledge, as well as the creation of ICT skills and the favouring of the dissemination and the use of ICT to foster the well-being and the integral development of Colombia. Colciencias coordinates the national science, technology and innovation system (SNCTI), creates synergies and interactions to offer a scientific, technological and innovative culture to Colombia. Furthermore, it maintains transparency in regard to its actions towards the regions of Colombia, its population, specialists as well as amateurs and students and teachers of every educational level.
