The Central American Educational Community and the Dominican Republic created an education portal (CEDUCAR), which links eight countries: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, the Dominican Republic and their respective educational systems. Its purpose is to function as a virtual meeting place for all educators in training and service, where one can stay informed, participate, train and update about educational issues. CEDUCAR is a dynamic educational portal that offers the following tools: online courses, virtual communities, virtual campus, chats, forums, links, a resource center that compiles important digital publications, newsletters, digital library collections and other materials of interest.
