International Education Exchange (IEE) - english information
Rwanda
International Education Exchange (IEE) is working with the Government of Rwanda to support public education by training teachers, creating school partnerships, and improving infrastructure. As the number of children in school increases rapidly, the Government of Rwanda is now also focusing on the quality of education. A primary emphasis contributing to quality education is teacher professional development. As strategies are put in place to train and support teachers, partners such as the International Education Exchange (IEE) are working to supplement and support the Ministry of Education’s vision to significantly improve the quality of teacher education in Rwanda. IEE first partnered with the Ministry of Education in 2008 and has continued to organize and facilitate teacher trainings as well as design and deliver teacher-training projects and materials. IEE’s goal is to promote student-centered instruction and critical thinking in classrooms throughout the country. IEE’s application of School-Based Teacher-Training in Rwanda is direct and personalized professional development that takes place in the school and responds to school culture and conditions.
