RENCP’s mandate is to serve as a body for NGO representation, information sharing and coordination. The 2010 RENCP work plan reflects this mandate as it includes, lesson-sharing field visits to member operating areas, an annual NGO workshop along a selected theme, and capacity building of local education NGOs to ensure sustainability, among other activities. Rwanda now has the beginnings of a multi-stakeholder style mechanism amongst NGOs in education, unlike in the past when NGOs missed valuable opportunities to sit down with government and other cooperating partners to determine policy and review progress.
