The Daphne Toolkit is both an archive of projects supported by the European Commission's Daphne Programme to prevent and combat violence against children, young people and women and to protect victims and groups at risk and an active resource for those planning new projects in this field. The Toolkit has three main objectives: * As a comprehensive dissemination tool, making the results and impacts of the Daphne Programme available on-line; * As a networking and planning tool for organisations working with violence-related issues, by providing contact details of other organisations, ideas and lessons, and information about actions already undertaken in this field; and * As a comprehensive and living web resource that is complementary to the Daphne website of DG Justice, Freedom and Security (JLS), which focuses on funding possibilities under the programme, administrative and technical information and instructions regarding the programme, its calls for proposals, financing rules etc. In the Daphne Toolkit, one can find presentations of some 460 projects financed under the Daphne Programme between 1997 and 2006, with descriptions of their objectives, actions, results and the lessons learned from them, with related links and resources. One can also find publications, reports and presentations produced by the Daphne Programme management team at the Commission, and some practical advice on what to think about when you design and manage a project.
