The "Center for US-Japan Comparative Social Studies" is an internet- based non-profit organisation founded in 2000. It aims to provide the general public with information about education, society and culture in Japan in English and about education, society and culture in the United States in Japanese. The book "Japanese Education in the 21st Century" offers detailed information not only about the general educational system in Japan but also about special education and education for Burakumin and Ainu children, ethnic minorities in Japan.
