UNESCO's Asia and Pacific Programme of Education for All (APPEAL) is a regional co-operative programme designed to promote basic education for all in the Asia and Pacific region. This website serves as a portal to the programme themes of APPEAL, e.g. eradication of illiteracy and early education care. Originally launched in 1987 to focus mainly on non-formal adult education, APPEAL has since expanded its programmes to promote the six Education For All (EFA) goals set in the Dakar Framework for Action adopted at the World Education Forum in 2000.
