Austria
The online full text "Bildungswegweiser Österreich" (education map Austria), authored by "Schulpsychologie-Bildungsberatung" (school psychology-educational guidance), offers a comprehensive and detailed survey of the Austrian educational system und additionally contains descriptions of diverse educational institutions' characteristics and curricula. By way of introduction it is explained, which education paths lead to 'Matura' (general qualification for university entrance) or directly to an occupation and which stages of that path allow a transition between the different educational institutions. Subsequent some principal information regarding educational decisions are given, for students on the one hand and parents and educational advisors on the other. The following three chapters deal with educational paths without 'Matura', that lead to 'Matura' and that follow 'Matura'. The final chapter "Wer? Wo? Was? " (Who?, Where?, What?) provides additional useful information, e.g. about decisional support at school, about further counselling and supporting agencies - an ample list of adresses organized by the Austrian states is provided - about brochures published by the Ministry of education and about curricula of different types of schools. The brochure concludes with a short link list and hints to searching addresses of important educational institutions.
