Universities Canada (formerly The Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC)) is considered to be the national voice for Canadian universities, representing many public and private not-for-profit universities and university degree-level colleges. As an organization its mission is to foster and promote the interests of higher education and university research. By working closely with governments, private sector and the public, AUCC is actively participating in the development of public policy to find solutions to the economic and social challenges facing Canada. By this, AUCC aims to raise the profile of higher education within the general public.
