The Ministry for Tribal Affairs was constituted in order to improve the social and economic situation of the impoverished tribes living in rural areas. Its particular objective concerns educational measures such as hostels for scholars, literacy schemes in low literacy districts educational and vocational training schemes and a book bank. The web site contains links to related schemes, annual reports, media information (including fund application forms) and to autonomous organisations.
