The British Education Index (BEI) began life in the early 1960s as a simple author and subject index to the contents of educational journals published in the UK. The service now also comprises electronic texts ( Education-line), internet resources (British Education Internet Resource Catalogue), and conference proceedings. The free collections search interface gives access to: all of the BEI's records for Education-line full texts, all of the BEI's records for freely available internet resources, records for the most recently indexed journal articles not yet included in the full BEI subscription database.
