This website provides information on research and teaching at the European University Institute in Florence and offers access to archives and a variety of services of the institute. The EUI was founded in 1972 by the European Community Member States. Its main objective is to provide advanced academic training to PhD students and to promote research at the highest level. It carries out research in a European perspective (fundamental research, comparative research and Community research) in history, law, economics, political and social science, including higher education.
