The European Association for the Education of Adults is an association of non-governmental organisations actively involved in the development of adult education throughout Europe. The association is made up of more than 100 organisations in 34 countries (as of September 2005) . Die EAEA closely co-operates with UNESCO and the European Commission. Links on the homepage lead to the database ALICE ( Adult Learning Information Centre Europe), to educational programmes of the EU and to key documents of Confintea, the International Conference on Adult Education which was organized by Unesco in Hamburg (Germany) in 1997.
