This full text informs that in China besides the Han Nationality there are 55 ethnic minorities with a population of 108 million inhabitants, which accounts for about 9 per cent of the total population. This contribution provides information about the various measures in the education sector for the promotion of ethnic groups which have been introduced and carried out since the foundation of the People's Republic in 1949.
