NAEYC, founded in 1926, is an organization of early childhood educators dedicated to improve the quality of programs for children from birth through third grade. The website offers information on their accreditation programs, which set professional standards for early childhood education programs. The section "Early Childhood Issues" provides information and research reports for parents and educators. Online articles of "Young Children", a peer reviewed journal, featuring the latest in early childhood research, theory and practice are partly free for donwload as well as abstracts of quarterly reports on early childhood research (some resources are also available in Spanish).
