The office, founded unter the protection of the French Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, is the official information centre concerning school issues, studies, professions and vocational training. The information relates to most of the professions for which training is available. An "atlas" describes the school and higher education qualifications needed for each profession. A database describes more than 400 occupational profiles (fiches métiers). There is a link list with further vocational education institutions. One sub-site leads to information about studying in Europe and one about studying in France (these are also in English and Spanish) in France.
