Founded in 1990, the Council on Islamic Education (CIE) is a national, non-profit resource organization comprised of a diverse body of scholars of history, religion, education and related disciplines. The mission of CIE is to contribute to the improvement of the American K- 12 education system, by participating in the cultivation of knowledge, critical thinking, and global awareness among the nation' s young citizens.- This website is to provide services, resources and research-based tools on issues of Islamic education.
