Ukraine
V.A.Suchomlinskij (1918 - 1970) is one of the great pedagogues in the field of alternative education. His writings have been translated into 53 languages. His most famous book is "My heart belongs to the children". German researchers cooperated with the "Ukrainian Suchomlinskij Society" (Kiev) at the beginning of years 2000. The "Ukrainian Suchomlinskij Society" tried to integrate Suchomlinskij's ideas into the education system of Ukraine, assisted by his daughter, Olga Suchomlinskaja (Kiev). Although Suchomlinskij is an internationally renowned educator and his pedagogy is referred to in the educational practice in many countries, his books are hardly available in Germany. The former project website is not available anymore. Nevertheless, the link leads you to an article about Suchomlinskij, written by Erika Gartmann who was part of the project back in the year 2001.
