The UNESCO International Institute for Capacity Building in Africa (IICBA) was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization General Conference in October, 1999. The Institute is headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Institute's primary responsibility will be to develop the capacities of institutions in Africa working in the areas of teacher education; curriculum development; educational policy, planning and management; and distance education.- This homepage provides information about programmes on teacher education, distance education and curriculum development.
