Russian Federation
The Institute for the Study of Russian and Eurasian Education (formerly the Institute for the Study of Soviet Education) was established in 1989 in response to rapid changes occurring in education in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. It can be seen from its website that ISRE gathers timely information about reform initiatives, classroom practices, structural changes in schooling, teacher training, educational technology and other aspects of education in Russia and the NIS. ISRE serves as a depository for information from the Russian Ministry of Education. ISRE translates relevant material and disseminates it through the ISRE Newsletter on Russian and Eurasian Education.
