The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) was established in November 1965 as a chartered international organization whose purpose is to promote cooperation in education, science and culture in the Southeast Asian region. This website provides information on activities of the SEAMEO Secretariat (SEAMES) which administers a variety of programmes on behalf of the 11 SEAMEO Member Countries and the SEAMEO Network. There are 26 specialised SEAMEO Centres that undertake training and research in various fields of education. SEAMEO also provides a lot of publications on its website. The organisation’s main focus areas are: Innovation in Teaching and Learning; Health and Well-being; Language, Culture, and Heritage; Education in Southeast Asia; Sustainable Development; Inclusive Education; Policy and Governance in Education.
