The Centre of Research on Education in China (CREC), established in 1998, is built upon many years of contact, research, and experience with a multitude of educational institutions all across China. The CREC team is composed of international specialists in education who are also well-versed in Chinese culture, tradition, and language. The CREC team aims to apply their international expertise to the study of education in China and to act as a bridge between researchers in China and abroad. The CREC team expertise has been employed for major educational projects with the State Ministry of Education of China in conjunction many international organizations, including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), International Institute of Educational Planning (IIEP) and other international development agencies. The web site of CREC offers access to the China Education News Archive, to the CREC Quarterly Newsletter, to China Education Seminars Archive (audio files of university lectures), and to China Education Resources (structured links to institutions). The News Archive and the CREC Quarterly Newsletter are particularly to recommend for up-to-date information on what is going on in education in China.
