SOFF is the National Advisory Board for the Ministry of Education, Research and Church Affairs in the field of Distance Education. The Executive Board consists of seven members representing colleges, universities and independent Distance Education institutions. SOFF was established in order to coordinate and stimulate the development of distance education in Norway. Its responsibilities are also to inform and to advise anyone participating in the distance education system, and to evaluate the programmes or projects offered. SOFF is a member of several international networks. In connection with the EU-programmes, Leonardo and Socrates, SOFF has made special agreements with the national agencies for the two programmes.
