The IEA International Computer and Information Literacy Study (ICILS) examines the outcomes of student computer and information literacy (CIL) across countries. The International Computer and Information Literacy Study (ICILS), coordinated by the IEA since 2023, examines the information and computer literacy of students in an international comparison. The ICILS 2013 and ICILS 2018 study cycles were conducted by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). CIL refers to an individual's ability to use computers to investigate, create, and communicate in order to participate effectively at home, at school, in the workplace, and in the community. The ICILS target population consists of all students in the eighth grade, provided that the mean age at the time of testing was at least 13.5 years.
