Sweden
National reference points for vocational qualifications have been introduced in all European Union member states on the initiative of the European Commission. The goal is to facilitate the mobility of labour in Europe. In Sweden the National Reference Point for Vocational Qualifications is hosted by the National Agency for Education (Skolverket). An important task for the NRP is to support the use of Europass, in particular Europass certificate supplement. Another role is to, in cooperation with other countries´ NRPs, facilitate comparison of different countries´ systems of vocational qualifications. Sweden´s NRP is also part of another European network - ReferNet - which gathers, analyses and spreads information on vocational education and training in Europe. The goal is to facilitate the comparison of different countries' vocational education and training systems.
