Peru
The Global Compact of the UN is an initiative of ethical responsibility which aims at the recognition of enterprises of all countries concerning ten conduct and activity prinicples regarding human rights, work, environment and the fight against corruption. In November 2003, the system of the United Nations Peru and the CONFIEP, with the support of Perú 2021, officially launched the Global Compact Peru, which is based on those 10 principles. In 2005, the CONFIEP officially presented the Technical Office of the Red del Pacto Mundial. The Compact tries to promote the cooperation of the entrepreneurship with the governments, the governmental institutions, the ONGs, syndicats, universities and civil society to enable the country to confront the challenges of globalization. The CONFIEP took over the Technical Office of the network of the Global Compact in Peru and created a work committee for the implementation of the compact in the country. With the cooperation of the Program of the UN for development (PNUD), the project Seed Funding to Networks - Global Compact in Peru was founded, through wich resulted technical assistance for enterprises and institutions.
