The task of the General Direction of Intercultural Bilingual and Rural Education (DIGEIBIR) is the contribution to the acquisition of educational quality and equality by using diversity as mean to make proposals and to gather knowledge in all levels and modalities of the system to respond to the necessities and demands of the multicultural and multilingual population of the country. Furthermore, it fosters the contribution of the formation of students in pluricultural and bilingual contexts and expands the radius of education in all sectors to comply with the development needs of the indigenous communities and people.
