SISTER nahm im Jahr 2000 die Arbeit auf. Das Institut erstellt unabhängige, international komparative Analysen und Untersuchungen über das schwedische Bildungs- und Forschungssystem. Die Website ist zu Zeit noch hauptächlich in schwedischer Sprache verfasst. Es gibt jedoch eine ausführliche Einführung auf Englisch (die Links führen aber zum schwedischsprachigen Teil). Zugang zum Forschungsprogramm "Das Bildungssystem - Wachstum und Veränderungen (2001-2003)". Umfangreiche Linkliste über nationale und internationale Bildungsforschungsinstitute.
