PLUTO ist ein pädagogisches Projekt mit dem Ziel der Förderung der Lehrerbildung im Bereich Informatische Grundbildung und Telematik. Es entstand auf Initiative einer Working Group der ATEE (Association for Teacher Education in Europe) im Jahre 1986. Im Rahmen dieses Projekts wurde das PLUTO Educational Network eingerichtet, das ausgewählten Hochschulen und Schulen in in 18 Ländern Europas zur Verfügung gestellt wurde. In Deutschland liegt der Knoten ("national node") im Fachbereich Informatik der Universität Oldenburg.- Über den "Oldenburger Knoten" bietet die Website den Zugang zu Informationen über das europäische Netzwerk.
