Japan Society of Educational Policy tries to help answer questions as: What education should we privide for children who will live in the 21st century? What kind of ecducation system should we construct in view of enourmous changes occuring in the society? JASEPS has been established and conducting various activities overcoming difference of ideology and standpoints. Currently, there are enormous amount of issues concerning education policies such as follows: measures to cope with problem behaviour of children which is becoming increasingly serious, measures to cope with declining birth rate and aging of the population, measures to cope with the increasing use of sophisticated information technology, measures to cope with internationalization and globalization, etc. It is important to participate in the decision making process of forming policies by giving proposals concerning policies actively.
