Education is under attack around the world. From Afghanistan to Colombia, Mali to Thailand, students and teachers are killed, raped, and abducted, while schools and universities are occupied, bombed, and destroyed.
Between 2015 and 2019, there were more than 11,000 reported attacks, harming more than 22,000 students and educators in at least 93 countries. In the 37 countries profiled in this report, at least 10 attacks on education occurred over the last 5 years." [Abstract: Site editor’s information]
