Educational Research in Brazil

The BRICS countries (emerging countries Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) have significantly gained power; they held their last summit conference in March 2013. Social unrest was observable in Brazil in the summer of 2013 and people demonstrated for more investment in health and education. In this context, critical voices were raised against the world soccer championship 2014 and the Summer Olympics 2016. Also, Brazil is the guest of honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October 2013.
Hence, there are plenty of reasons to take a closer look at Brazil. The Education Worldwide team has thus compiled two dossiers on Brazil: a first dossier on education in general in Brazil; a second one, the one that is following here, focuses on educational research in Brazil.
