Digitisation, Digital Education & Inclusion in an International Perspective

If you look at the topic of digitisation in relation to inclusion, various subtopics and terms appear: There is the whole field of assistive technologies, but also of so-called accessible technologies. Another big topic is design - and in the case of digital education especially the inclusive design of websites or software and the like. Here you will find terms such as “design for all”, “inclusive design” or “universal design”. Others rather put the focus on the term "inclusion" and create new words such as “e-inclusion” or “e-accessibility”. In all of the areas mentioned, inclusion is usually understood as the inclusion of people with disabilities. We therefore also focus on this area of inclusion in our web dossier. Nevertheless, it is important to mention that the topic of “digitisation and inclusion” also includes issues such as the so-called “digital gap” or the digital inclusion of other disadvantaged groups in society such as ethnic minorities, different genders, elderly people etc.
