The task of the Institute is research and teaching in the field of law in Eastern Europe, with a particular focus upon Russia, countries of the Baltic Sea Area and CIS countries. As to the subject areas, the focus is on civil law and commercial law. Large library. Numerous cooperation relationships with partner institutions abroad and in Germany.
