IDeA investigates the process of childrenÂ’s individual development from birth to twelve years, as well as educational interventions to enhance learning and academic success. IDeA was founded in 2008 as part of the LOEWE initiative by the state of Hesse, Germany. It is a joint venture of the DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education, the Goethe University Frankfurt, and the Sigmund Freud Institut. The center brings together scientists from various disciplines, e.g., psychology, educational science, psycholinguistics, neuroscience, sociology, and psychoanalysis.
