The Racial Dot Map
Created by Dustin Cable at the University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service, the Racial Dot Map provides ”an accessible visualization of geographic distribution, population density, and racial diversity of the American people in every neighborhood in the entire country” (USA 2013).
Mapping Decline: St. Louis and the American City
Each of 4 maps illustrates a different phenomenon that shaped Saint Louis: white flight; laws and policies that deliberately created racial segregation; municipal zoning laws; and laws and policies that fit under the umbrella of ʺurban renewal.ʺ (USA 2017-21)
Controversial Public Policy Issues:
In this 12th-grade Law class at a High School in Minnesota, the teacher engages students in a structured discussion of a highly controversial issue - racial profiling - and connects student learning both to their study of due process in constitutional law and to police procedure in their study of criminal law (Annenberg 2015).
