The objective of the tracker is to provide information on coal-fired power plants in the developmental pipeline since 2010. Plants that entered operation or were cancelled before January 1, 2010, are not included (endcoal.org 2021).

The biggest environmental organization in the United States engages in lobbying politicians to promote environmentalist policies. Recent focuses of the club include promoting sustainable energy, mitigating global warming, and opposing the use of coal (2018). 

Students explore the development of the textile industry in Great Britain. They link the rapid growth in both the textile industry and in coal mining in Great Britain to the development of social ills and the political push to alleviate some of the atrocious conditions under which people worked (History Teaching Institute, Columbus, Ohio 2014).
