The National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) provides a unique data infrastructure for empirical research on competence development, educational processes, educational decisions, and returns to education in formal, nonformal, and informal contexts. So far, longitudinal information for all six starting cohorts and the two additional school reform studies are already available to the scientific community. The first NEPS User Conference brings together researchers at different stages of their academic career to share their NEPS-based findings and to discuss ongoing projects. It addresses an interdisciplinary audience – that is, contributions on all NEPS topics and studies, including methodological issues and comparisons with other national or international surveys, are welcome.
